Sunday. 95 Sloane Street. Dearest Mother. I went yesterday afternoon to a tea party at Eda's studio - it was very amusing. I was not invited, but I knew there was a toffy making tea party to the fore, so I ventured in and was well received. The Darwens were there, and the Gervaises (!) and other people I didn't know. Amy and Eda were great dears, they acted charades with the children after tea and were extremely funny. Mrs Darwen asked affectionately after you and was glad to hear you were coming up. I was very spry this morning; I got up early and bicycled round Battersea before breakfast; it was very heavenly and quite empty. I wore my new skirt which is ideal now I know which way to put it on! I went to see Tiny before lunch and found her in bed with her baby beside her. She looked about 16 herself and so pretty and she is quite delightful with the babe. I stayed talking to her for an hour and enjoyed it very much. She is so radiantly happy.
After lunch I went to see Stella Duckworth, found her in and had a long talk with her and Mr Hills who was also calling. I like her but I'm never quite sure that she likes me! However I think she must a little for she always presses me to come and to stay when I'm there.

I'm going to sup with Mrs Green. In a moment of forgetfulness I had arranged to spend Thursday evening with Lisa, but I would far rather spend it with Papa and you if you are going to be here and I have written to tell her so. Ever your affectionate daughter Gertrude
